ESPA at Acqualina is located within the elegantly detailed Mediterranean style Acqualina, A Rosewood Resort, designed in association with STA Architectural Group. The concept began with the sequential layout that parallels the spa experience for each guest. The floors consist of quartzite sandstone tiles complemented by wire-brushed teak planks. Vertical surfaces are clad with slate, tinted glass mosaics, and resin panels with hints of sea grass & sea shells. The accent walls are treated with honed concrete, carved wood panels and natural weaves. The flow of water, lighting and its reflections symbolize the cleansing process of the body & soul as they take on different forms throughout the spa.
The separate relaxation areas for men and women encompass a view of the vast sand beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. Backlit panels of papyrus create a therapeutic glow on the surrounding surfaces. The steam room is indulged in warm hues of delicately iridescent mosaics. A concave glass wall spilling ice flakes into a bowl illuminated by a gentle wash of light lies steps away from the steam room. The experience shower is encircled by a spiral wall finished with mother of pearl glass tiles emulating the inside of a shell.
